Library
The Banora Point High School Library is a welcoming hub for reading, research, study and digital learning. Our library provides students with access to a wide range of print and digital resources, including fiction, non-fiction, ebooks and audiobooks, as well as spaces for quiet reading, senior study, class learning and independent research.
The library encourages students to become confident readers, thoughtful researchers and responsible users of information. Through library lessons, reading programs, Book Club and research support, students are given opportunities to explore new ideas, develop digital and information literacy skills, and build positive learning habits.
Whether students are borrowing a book, studying independently, participating in a lesson or looking for support with research, the library offers a calm, respectful and supportive environment that supports both learning and student wellbeing.
Reading, Borrowing and Resources
The library supports a strong reading culture by providing students with access to a wide range of fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, manga, audiobooks and digital texts. Our collection is developed to reflect student interests, curriculum needs and a variety of reading levels, helping every student find something they can enjoy and connect with.
Library Spaces
The library provides a flexible learning environment with spaces for reading, research, study, collaboration and class learning. Students can access quiet study areas, senior study spaces, group work areas, a reading nook, laptop access and printing facilities.
Library Lessons
Library lessons support students to develop reading, research, digital literacy and information literacy skills. Through guided activities, students learn how to choose suitable books, engage with texts, use digital tools, search effectively, evaluate information and use sources responsibly.
The library program helps students build skills they can use across subject areas, including independent reading, critical thinking, online safety, research strategies and ethical use of information.
Library Programs and Events
The library offers a range of programs and events that encourage reading, creativity and student engagement. These include Book Week celebrations, reading challenges, book displays, Book Club and other activities that connect students with stories, ideas and each other.
Book Week is a highlight of the library year, with activities and displays designed to celebrate reading, promote the library collection and encourage students to discover new books.
Digital Library
The digital library gives students access to reading, viewing and learning resources beyond the physical library space. Students can use online platforms to access ebooks, audiobooks, curriculum videos, research support and other learning resources.
Digital resources such as ePlatform and ClickView support reading, classwork, study and independent learning, with assistance available for students who need help accessing or using these platforms.
Distance Education and Senior Support
The library supports students completing Distance Education courses and senior students working independently. Students can access quiet study spaces, digital resources, research support and assistance with locating and using information for coursework and assessment tasks.
The library provides a calm and supportive environment for students to manage their learning, attend online lessons, complete study tasks and seek guidance when needed.
Library Catalogue and Online Links
Students can access key library resources online, including the library catalogue, digital reading platforms and learning resources. These links support reading, research, classwork and independent study from school or home.
