At the Presentation Day Assembly, staff and students celebrated our students who have achieved a variety of Special Awards, Honours Awards and Academic Awards.
The Silver and Gold Honours Awards went to students who achieved these certificates through recognition of their academic achievement, diligence to studies, positive behaviour and their participation in community and school events.
There was a range of special awards presented to worthy recipients, including:
- Work Placement Special Education
- The Positive Behaviour Award
- Support Unit Excellence Award
- Certificate of Excellence in Horticulture
- Rotary's Equal Access Scholarship
- Joongara Award
- Technology and Innovation Award
- Beyond the Broncos NRMA Insurance 2020 Award
- Caring for the Community Award
- Year 7 Rising Star Award
- Excellence in Attendance Award
- Year 8 Science Project Award
- Mathematics Endeavour Award
- Music Levels Badges, including Gold, Silver and White
- 2020 Rotary Scholarship
- Tweed Heads Historical Society HSIE Encouragement Award
- Junior Debating Award
- NSW Premier's Reading Challenge
- Application and Achievement in Languages
- Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award Year 10
- NSW Teachers Federation Award for Commitment to Public Education
In addition to these Special Awards, we also recognised our sporting champions:
- Community Sports Award
- Sport All Rounder Trophy
- Sportsman of the Year Trophy
- Sportswoman of the Year Trophy
Recognition was given to those students who had been identified as consistently active learners, and students from each year group received the Parents and Citizens Recognition of Active Learning Award.
Our Presentation Day assembly was interspersed with performances from a talented array of musicians, singers and dancers. The final section of the assembly was dedicated to acknowledging and applauding those students who had gained first place in one or more subjects during the year. The Academic Awards were presented for each year group, followed by the Year Advisors Award and the Dux of the Year.
